"I really enjoy doing piano, and voice at Wildflower, I've had a couple different teachers and they all are GREAT! I feel like I have made progress in both my singing and piano skills and look forward to my lessons every week. Performances are fun, and the community is super supportive and not scary! THANKS WILDFLOWER!

"I am a Sophomore at Cornell University majoring in Music. Because she integrated performance, composition, theory and theater, I had a strong application as a freshman, and even received funding. I was admittedly, a difficult student for Kari, but she persevered because she believed in me. Ironically, it was only when I was open to failing that I learned and succeeded. Vocally, she prepared me to be a finalist in NATS in 2012 and 2013, perform in All-State Choir and finally get a lead in my school's musical my senior year. I don't know where I would be without the support of Kari, she was every every show, every concert, and every emotional break down I had. I can't thank her enough for prepping me so well for college. THe transition was smooth (not easy, but smooth) and I was (am) truly "on-par" with other students at Cornell, despite not going to an arts, or private high school. Thank you!"

"Kari Kraakevik has been working with my daughter, Whitney, for six years-- first as a musical director in her theater program, and more recently as her private voice and piano teacher. Kari is an incredibly loving, patient, and supportive teacher to all her students. She genuinely adores working with kids and teens, and has a unique ability to adapt her teaching to meet the specific needs, strengths, and learning style of each student. Whitney has formed an incredible bond with Kari over the years, and trusts her guidance and expertise completely. We know that, with Kari's instruction, Whitney is receiving the best preparation available for a future career in vocal performance."

"Kari has taught both of my daughters voice lessons for the past two years. Both girls are very different in their needs as learners. She has been able to adapt her teaching methods to the their needs very easily. The depth of their learning has been incredible, they have both gained a deeper understanding of music and their own musical ability.
On top of this Kari is super fun and has had helped with their overall self esteem. We are thrilled to have Kari as an educator in their lives guiding them with their musical education."

I LOVE Wildflower! Wildflower has taught me to be confident on stage and try new things, like guitar and piano that are sometimes scary. I also learned about how to perform with microphones--and we get to perfrom with a rock band--live, which is so cool. My favorite part is having fun in performance class listening to everyone perform, it's an awesome place with awesome-er people.

Wildflower was the first place that truly told me "YES YOU CAN," and believed in me.. without Wildflower/Reel Kids I wouldn't love what I do, love what I create, and love to whom I collaborate. This is the safest, most supportive environment I know. Thank you!

"My daughters, ages 11 and 12, are truly passionate about singing and all things theater. As their voice teacher and musical director in copious shows for the past six years, Kari Kraakevik has fed their passions, expedited their growth, and provided opportunities to perform in a fun and supportive environment. From the beginning, Kari was careful to teach proper singing techniques in order to protect their young, developing voices. I have seen Kari work successfully with all different personalities, ages and skill levels. She is a passionate teacher who wants each student to maximize his or her potential, both as a performer and as a person.
Besides voice, Kari has taught our girls piano, music composition, sight reading and audition preparation skills. Seeing her as a role model, I have appreciated Kari's method of using teachable moments to impart messages of kindness, humility, humor, acceptance, gratitude and socially appropriate expectations.
Through the years, our daughters have learned to better understand their own voices, imprint their own style on songs, and to have high expectations of themselves as performers.
Kari surrounds herself with like minded, positive professionals. She has been able to recommend colleagues to support other interests of learning such as playing musical instruments, making recordings, dance and acting. Kari has developed a community of support for students interested in all things theatrical. As a family, we all love Kari and can ot imagine taking this life journey of raising our musical daughters without her."
