"Handprints in Concrete"

EMMA WALLINGFORD

My name is Emma Wallingford and I’m sixteen years old and attend Silver Creek High School. I was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado.

Singing is my main passion in life and I always like to refer to it as my second language. Being on stage and knowing that I’m relating to others in the audience by showing them what I love to do is an incredible feeling. I’ve always been involved in singing whether it is school choir, church pageants, shows at Wildflower, etc. I’ve been a student at Wildflower for about three years and I love the opportunities it’s given me and I hope to continue going there for as long as I can.

I went on a mission trip to Mexico to build houses and ended up writing a song about it called “Handprints in Concrete” and I had the chance to record it. You can listen to it by clicking the arrow under my picture.

Emma won the Longmont Idol competition for 2009!

KAY-KAY ROSMARIN

Hi, I’m Kay-Kay Rosmarin and I love to sing. I’m 14 years old  and go to Fairview High School. I cannot imagine life without singing. It’s my passion, my favorite thing in the world. I am always in song, trying to make life a musical!

This year, my singing career is really picking up. I am singing in the 9th grade choir, have performed at Nissi’s, the Rock and Soul Café, the Outlook Hotel, a Bar Mitzvah, and at a few different high schools. I have been performing with a Chicago Blues band, with a Rock and Roll band called Harwood Park, and with an excellent jazz pianist (Joe Roessler with whom I recorded Hallelujah).

One of the most life-altering experiences for me is singing at the Children’s Hospital with the Chicago Blues band. The look of joy on the kid’s faces makes me realize the power that my voice has to bring happiness. I want to always be able to bring that kind of happiness throughout my entire life.  No matter where my singing takes me, I only hope to keep music in my life.
